Putin Calls On The Ukrainian Army To Depose President Volodymyr Zelensky!
According to AFP, Putin made the request on Friday (2/25/2022) in the midst of Russia's military operations, which have now reached the Ukrainian capital, Kiev. Puti urged the Ukrainian military to depose the country's leaders, whom he described as "terrorists" and "a group of drug addicts and neo-Nazis."
In a televised speech, Putin urged the Ukrainian military to "take power in your own hands." He claimed that negotiating with the Ukrainian military was easier than negotiating with the Ukrainian leader.
"It appears that we would find it easier to agree with you than with this gang of drug addicts and neo-Nazis," he said, referring to Kiev's leadership, which is led by Jewish President Volodymyr Zelensky.
Russia's Troops Have Arrived in Kiev
To be sure, Russian troops were already in the northern district of Kiev (Kyiv) on the second day of the invasion, according to Ukrainian officials.
Several explosions were heard in Kiev, and video footage showed tanks speeding into the city's northern district.
Social media videos showed what appeared to be Russian tanks speeding through Obolon, a neighborhood north of Kiev.
Russia's troops had infiltrated the residential district, according to Ukraine's defense ministry.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said 137 people, both soldiers and civilians, were killed on the first day of a major Russian offensive on Thursday (24/02).
Russian troops are also said to be getting closer to Kiev's capital.
According to the United Nations, approximately 100,000 people have fled the capital Kiev and other cities.
Russia also controls the Chernobyl nuclear power plant, which was the site of the world's worst nuclear disaster in 1986. The area is still a radioactive hazard, and international nuclear watchdogs are concerned.
Fighting erupted in key locations, including an airstrip near Kiev controlled by Russian forces and claimed by Ukrainian forces to have been retaken.
